In this position you will Manage the Engineering staff in support of current product production, improvements, and new product development
Essential Functions:
  1. Manages and leads Engineering staff and technicians
  2. Addresses and resolves engineering issues with current product and assists the Production Department in the resolution of product engineering issues with Thunderstone products that are in production.
  3. Develop, test, document new product projects as assigned.
  4. Researches and resolves re-occurring quality and performance issues with existing product.
  5. Ability to develop and achieve product development timelines, develop product cost projections and provide reporting on project status.
  6. Assists Manufacturing in the research and implementation of Continuous Improvement ideas related to product design changes.
  7. Implements new product design releases to the factory.
  8. Assist in analysis of field problems and corrective actions related to those matters.
  9. Make presentations on projects, project status, product research and related matters.
  10. Must be able to interact with individuals at various positions within the organization appropriately from production staff to customer decision makers.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.
  1. Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering role. 
  2. A Professional Engineering license is desirable.
  3. Must have a minimum of four years of management experience including budget management and performance appraisal responsibility.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. Ability to develop detailed project plans and timelines.
  6. Ability to investigate and diagnose product performance issues.
  7. Ability to investigate product applications and possible product opportunities and propose design solutions.
  8. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MRP/ERP business software and Solid Works CAD software.
